Project Narrative
Ü.Barut Villas were designed to capture the expansive calm of the Marmara coastline. The interior palette draws from sea and shore — bleached whites, driftwood greys, and deep navy accents create a maritime atmosphere without resorting to literal nautical references.
Site analysis revealed prevailing breezes and the angle of afternoon light reflecting off the water. These findings drove the orientation of living spaces to maximise cross-ventilation and the golden quality of sea-reflected light that fills rooms in the late afternoon.
Wide-plank whitewashed oak flooring runs continuously through living areas, extending onto covered terraces to dissolve the indoor-outdoor boundary. Stone-clad feature walls in the living rooms provide thermal mass, keeping interiors cool through summer days and warm through winter evenings.
The villas achieve the rare balance of feeling both festive and restful — equally suited to a summer gathering of friends and a solitary winter weekend reading by the fire. The sea is present in every room, even those without a direct view.
