Project Narrative

Lyksor's leadership wanted a workplace that took industrial pride and translated it into a hospitality the company could offer its visitors and staff. The brief specifically rejected the cliché of a glossy corporate office in favour of something more material, more honest.

We toured the production facility before drawing a single line in the offices — the reasoning being that the headquarters should feel like the manufacturing voice, not contrast with it. Materials, lighting, and signage were all derived from cues found on the factory floor.

Bush-hammered concrete, blackened steel, and warm oak make up the material palette. The reception desk is sculpted from a single block of concrete and the staircase carries oak treads on a steel armature — both cues lifted directly from the production floor.

The new headquarters has changed how Lyksor talks about itself. Visitors leave with a clear impression that the company values material seriousness — and the staff describes the building as one of the reasons they like coming to work.
