Project Narrative

Set among the mature trees of Çekmekoy, D.Bellek Villas treat the landscape not as a backdrop but as a collaborator. The interior concept extends the forest floor inside — natural stone, raw timber, and earth-toned textiles blur the threshold between dwelling and woodland.

Each villa was developed with its own personality within a shared material language. Site visits across seasons documented how light filters through the canopy, informing window placement and interior colour temperatures that shift from warm amber in living spaces to cool grey-green in bedrooms.

Local stone was sourced from quarries within fifty kilometres, reducing transport impact while ensuring the interiors feel rooted in their geography. Underfloor heating eliminates the need for radiators, keeping walls clean and allowing furniture to float freely in each room.

The completed villas feel like they have grown from their site rather than being placed upon it. Residents describe a deep sense of calm — the interiors are quiet enough to hear birdsong, yet rich enough to sustain interest through years of daily inhabitation.
