The design prioritises flexibility — open floor plates that can be subdivided to suit tenants ranging from startups to established firms. A central atrium brings daylight deep into the plan while serving as the building's social spine.

The structural module was determined by typical office partition widths, ensuring that any future reconfiguration aligns with the building's grid. Facade studies balanced energy performance with the client's desire for a distinctive presence on the Gebze highway.

A reinforced concrete frame with flat slabs enables maximum floor-to-ceiling heights while accommodating raised floors for data cabling. The curtain wall system uses high-performance glass with ceramic frit patterns that reduce glare without darkening interiors.

Barut Is Merkezi has achieved near-full occupancy since completion, validating the design strategy of maximum adaptability. Its measured, professional character has set a new standard for commercial architecture in the Gebze region.
