Polat Evi

Polat Evi

A home that redefines contemporary comfort — clean volumes and considered materiality create spaces that feel both open and embracing.

A residential design offering a contemporary living space.

Project Narrative

Sheltered brick terrace with outdoor dining table and canopy lighting
01Concept

Polat Evi begins with a simple proposition: that a family home should feel spacious without being vast, and intimate without being confining. The plan opens generously to the garden while maintaining distinct zones for living, sleeping, and gathering.

02Design Process

The interior layout was developed through dialogue with the family, mapping daily routines to spatial sequences. Sight lines from the kitchen to the children's play area and from the living room to the entrance ensure passive supervision without physical barriers.

03Execution

Fair-faced concrete walls anchor the structure, their raw texture offset by warm timber soffits and honed stone floors. Floor-to-ceiling glazing on the south elevation maximises solar gain in winter, with external louvres providing summer shading.

04Outcome

Polat Evi is a house that feels inevitable — as though its rooms could not have been arranged any other way. The family has made it entirely their own, which is the highest compliment any architecture can receive.
