A family home that lets classical detail share the room with contemporary furniture — neither overpowers the other, and the apartment feels lived-in from day one.
A warm family apartment composed of a natural palette and classical lines.

Project Narrative

The clients had inherited furniture they loved and an apartment that needed everything. Rather than discard the old to install something new, we designed walls and ceilings that would let the inherited pieces look at home in a contemporary envelope.

Each inherited piece was photographed and placed against the proposed wall finishes. Pieces that did not work were either reupholstered, refinished, or politely retired — the client made every final call.

The new shell carries hand-finished plaster walls, a soft cornice line, and warm oak floors. Brass details — the door pulls, the lamp bases, the kitchen tap — were chosen to echo the metals already present in the inherited furniture.

The apartment has the unmistakable feeling of a home that has been lived in for years — a deliberate effect we chase often and rarely achieve so completely on day one.
