Project Narrative
Rexoil's leadership wanted an office that signalled the company's industrial heritage to international visitors — formal enough to read as serious, modern enough to feel ongoing rather than nostalgic.
We balanced classical mouldings against contemporary furniture pieces — the discipline being that any classical detail had to share the room with at least one decisively modern piece. The juxtaposition keeps the office from feeling like a period set.
A coffered ceiling, panelled walls, and a book-matched black marble feature wall set the formal tone. A custom contemporary sofa in deep tobacco leather and a polished steel coffee table anchor the lounge against that backdrop.
The office reads as serious without being stiff — and the leadership team uses it equally for board meetings and casual one-on-ones. That double duty was the brief's hardest requirement, and the room delivers it without compromise.
