Project Narrative

01Concept

No.11 takes its name from its address and its ambition: to be singular. The concept treats the entire residence as one interconnected spatial experience — rooms flow into one another through considered thresholds, framed views, and shifts in ceiling height that signal transitions without doors.

02Design Process

The design evolved through an unusually long development phase — over forty detailed room studies ensured that each space carries its own atmosphere while contributing to the whole. Full-scale material mock-ups were built on site to test textures, joints, and light behaviour before any permanent installation.

03Execution

A material vocabulary of honed marble, brushed brass, smoked oak, and hand-trowelled plaster runs through every room. Bespoke joinery — including a twelve-metre kitchen island — was fabricated off-site and installed with millimetre precision.

04Outcome

No.11 is a house that rewards slow looking. Its richness unfolds over time — details reveal themselves across seasons as light changes, materials patina, and the inhabitants discover new qualities in spaces they thought they already knew.
