D.B. Bodrum Villa
A second home for the D.Bellek family — relaxed enough to host bare feet and beach towels, refined enough to deserve the same care as their primary residence.

Project Narrative

The brief was for a Bodrum house that would feel emphatically different from the family's Çekmeköy villa — a holiday voice rather than the everyday one. We chose a warmer, sunnier palette and a more relaxed material grain to mark the difference.

We worked with local stonemasons to specify a travertine that wraps the kitchen island as a single sculptural block. The dark wood cabinetry was selected to complement that stone — both materials chosen for the way they age in salt air.

Linen wallcoverings, oversized linen bedding, and woven sisal rugs reinforce the holiday register throughout the bedrooms. The lighting was deliberately kept low — Bodrum evenings are best read by candle.

The villa now does what holidays should: it slows the family down. Mornings begin at the travertine island with coffee and bare feet on warm stone — exactly the kind of luxury that does not advertise itself.
