Project Narrative
The clients wanted a single moment of drama in an otherwise calm apartment. We organised the entire living space around a vertically fluted accent wall — a quiet rhythm that becomes assertive when the lights catch it from above.
Sample boards were prepared at full scale to choose the depth and pitch of the fluting. The black marble was sourced last because it had to land both visually and financially against the rest of the budget — once selected, every other finish was tuned to it.
The fluted wall was milled in solid oak and finished in a soft warm grey lacquer. Behind it sits a continuous LED reveal that washes light upward at night, transforming the wall from a graphic device into an architectural lantern.
The apartment is small enough that one strong gesture defines it — and the family has stopped describing the home by its address. They describe it by the wall.
