Project Narrative

The client wanted a single room that could host a board meeting at 9 a.m., a one-on-one at noon, and a quiet evening of paperwork — without ever feeling like the same space. We achieved this through a soft curve that organises three distinct zones around a central focal point.

The plan began with a circular-arc sofa drawn at full scale on the floor of the empty shell. Furniture, joinery, and ceiling were then aligned to that single radius so every element of the room reinforces the same geometric idea.

Walnut wraps the perimeter walls, a charcoal carpet absorbs sound, and slim cove lighting picks out the curves at night. The conference table is monolithic stone, kept rectangular as a deliberate counterpoint to the dominant arcs.

The result is an office that quietly choreographs the day. Visitors notice the curves first; what they remember is the calm — a difficult quality to design for, and the one the client values most.
